I cried!
I laughed!
I giggled!
I was exasperated!
I screamed!
I smiled and chuckled and sobbed!
And most of all, I loved!
Oh my God! This movie wrung every possible emotion from me. I do not care if Nollywood copied this movie; if they did, then they copied it well.
If they didn't copy, then, Wowza!!
The film is about a mute make up artist whose sole means of communication is through the written word, becomes close to the son of one of her best clients, however there is an obstacle stopping her from fully allowing him into her world.
Ah! I've never paid attention to Bisola Aiyeola, but she killed it! I hope she got an award for this film; me, I'll start seeing any movie she's in. She and Mofe Duncan, my God, the chemistry was sweet. Shaffy Bello did not disappoint and Uche Ogbodo too.
Written by Biodun Stephen - much respect. And directed by Dimeji Ajibola - I'm bowing for your tightness, director! 🙌🏽
This film handled so many societal issues without being obvious about it. The movie just flowed, at first it was about a mute girl who surpassed her disability to make something of herself. Then we see how her clients love her, then how she meets this arrogant guy who practically falls at her feet in love with her later. But the high point was finding out what made her mute in the first place.
The movie tells us that Love is real.
Disabilities are real but not limiting in today's world.
And abuse, in all sorts of depraved forms, are real too. So be aware.
This is a movie to see.
I'm still pinching myself and wondering if this is a Nollywood film. It definitely wasn't the usual.
Seriously, if I could hug these guys, the actors and director and writer, I would!
Ciao!
On to the next movie 🎥 ...
Emem Bassey. 😘
